WHAT WE OFFER

HERstory Was Written.jpg
“I want to give a HUGE thank you to Knights. Y’all were absolutely the best—patient, flexible, and 100% encouraging. I wouldn’t want to say I was part of any other team. They say it takes a village, and this one showed up for me every step of the way.

- A. Harris

Class A CDL Program-  allows drivers to operate combination vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the vehicle being towed exceeds 10,000 pounds. Class A offers the highest earning potential and the greatest flexibility in career paths within the trucking industry. At KDA, we provide training in both manual transmission and automatic transmission commercial vehicles. This allows students to choose the training path that best aligns with their career goals. Training on a manual transmission vehicle allows you to test without a transmission restriction on your CDL, while automatic training is available for students who prefer that option. You will hold a restricted CDL.

Training Includes: DOT regulations and safety compliance, Pre-trip inspection mastery, Backing maneuvers (straight line, offset, Coupling and uncoupling procedures, On-road driving skills and Test preparation for CDL skills exam.

Vehicles You May Operate: Tractor-trailers (18-wheelers), Flatbeds, Tanker vehicles (with endorsement), livestock carriers, and double and triple trailers (with endorsement)

Class B CDL Program- allows drivers to operate a single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle towing less than 10,000 pounds. Class B is ideal for individuals seeking local routes, consistent schedules, and home-daily opportunities.

Training Includes: Vehicle inspection procedures, Defensive driving techniques, Safe maneuvering and backing, Road driving skills and CDL skills test preparation.

Vehicles You May Operate: Straight trucks, Box trucks, Dump trucks, Cement mixers and Large buses (with passenger endorsement)

CDL Endorsements

Enhance your earning potential and expand your career opportunities by adding endorsements to your Commercial Driver’s License. Endorsements allow drivers to operate specialized vehicles or transport specific types of cargo. We provide guidance and training to help you obtain the endorsements that align with your career goals.

  • Hazardous Materials (H Endorsement)- Allows drivers to transport hazardous materials such as chemicals, fuel, or other regulated substances. Requires a TSA background check and fingerprinting, passing a written knowledge exam, and completion of a state-regulated Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) course. KDA proudly offers Hazmat ELDT training online for your convenience, allowing you to complete the required coursework at your own pace before testing. The Hazmat endorsement is the only CDL endorsement that requires a federally/state-regulated training course prior to testing.

  • Other CDL Endorsements- Other available endorsements include Tanker (N), Passenger (P), School Bus (S), and Doubles/Triples (T). While we do not offer formal classes for these endorsements (since they do not require a state-regulated training course) they can be easily obtained through the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles by successfully completing the required written knowledge test (and skills test where applicable). Our team is always happy to guide students on the steps needed to add these endorsements through the DMV process.

Career Opportunities & Job Assistance- Graduates of our Class A CDL program qualify for a wide range of career paths including over-the-road (OTR), regional, dedicated, and local driving positions. While employment is never guaranteed, KDA proudly offers job assistance to students who are actively seeking employment. We work with hiring partners and recruiters to connect qualified graduates with potential job opportunities and provide guidance with applications, resume preparation, and next steps in the hiring process. Our goal is not just to help you earn your CDL — but to help you launch a successful driving career.

CDL Restriction Removal- Already have your CDL but need to remove a restriction? We offer Restriction Removal Training to help drivers expand their qualifications and increase job opportunities. One of the most common restrictions is the E Restriction (Automatic Transmission Only). This restriction is placed on a CDL when a driver completes their skills test in an automatic transmission vehicle. To remove this restriction, the driver must successfully complete a skills test in a manual transmission commercial vehicle.

  • Our Restriction Removal Program Includes: Manual transmission refresher training, one-on-one instruction, backing and road practice pre-trip review and test preparation support. Removing a transmission restriction can open doors to more job opportunities and higher earning potential, as some employers require drivers to operate manual transmission vehicles.

  • We offer 2nd chance enrollment. If you are a former student from another driving school, we require documentation from your previous school in order to complete your Onboarding Process.

1:1 CDL Training- personalized one-on-one CDL training sessions for drivers who need additional practice or focused skill development. We provide 1:1 personalized instruction with a minimum of 3 hours required per session, whether the training is focused on: Driving instruction, Pre-trip inspection instruction or a combination of both.

Our 1:1 training is ideal for: drivers preparing for the CDL skills test, individuals needing additional backing or road practice, students who want extra pre-trip inspection instruction, drivers returning to the industry after time away, and anyone seeking to strengthen specific CDL skills. This focused, individualized approach allows instructors to target your specific needs and build confidence behind the wheel.
